‘App Spotify’ appears on the App Store

Applying for Spotify streaming music, a popular music subscription service in Sweden, is now available on the App Store. It was reported last month that the application has been approved by Apple and the application is expected to be available in the App Store soon.

The application is capable of streaming music over Wi-Fi or EDGE or 3G data connection. It also offers the ability to store playlists offline that can be heard in the absence of a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection, a feature that directly competes with the iPhone’s iPod application.
Spotify music subscription service is only available in a handful of European countries at the time, including Sweden, Norway, Finland, the United Kingdom, France and Spain. Accordingly, the application Spotify is available on the U.S. App Store. When available, the application is free but Spotify Premium account at a monthly cost of 9.99 euros is required to use it.
