Solution: to make wireless network more secure

Although wireless providers package their products in different ways, they all use basically the same technology for connecting computers to each other and the Internet. The information in this article will give advice that anyone can use regardless of the device they are working. Before presenting possible solutions, however, take a minute to understand why a person who set up a wireless network with the default out of the box settings should be concerned about their privacy and personal data.
A wireless home network offers the convenience of using a laptop anywhere in the house and sometimes outside the house to connect to other computers and the Internet. There lies the problem. The wireless device, in many cases, could lead to a next-door neighbor or someone parked across the street to see and connect to your computer at home or use your Internet connection. They may also be able to see and record the data sent between your home computer and the Internet. How can these problems be addressed?
WAP Configuration
Take your laptop outside the home and see how far you can go, but still see the network. Use this information to create a range within which the connections can be made. Consider the device to move the house to limit this range in the best possible way.
Some devices automatically configure encryption of all wireless data is sent to and from it. Sure that the best encryption protocol uses. WEP has been around for a long time, but the new WPA and WPA2 are much more secure.

One of the most effective security measures with a WAP (Wireless Access Point) is to restrict access to it in the address of the computer home wireless network cards. Every network card has assigned a unique address called a MAC address. The WAP can be configured to allow access only to machines with specific MAC addresses. The documentation provided with the WAP should give detailed instructions on configuring this and other security settings.
Time to understand and the security settings for the installation of a wireless network may take several hours in some cases. If the protection of personal data and traffic surfing the Internet is important, however, the time spent is worth it.
